Download Malwarebytes'Antimalware, then follow the instructions in this post.
(What do you mean when you write; 'Trojan virus showed up on my Windows scan'?)

i mean, it said TROJAN under the threats column after a full system scan, i then clicked remove instead of quarantine or anything else, i clicked remove, said removed successfully. ill go on my laptop and see if i can get a screen shot when i scan again.

but its not the end of the world, planned on buying a new hdd anyways, and i can always restore to factory settings, but i would not like to do this, only if this becomes a big threat (tracking keys, etc)

well, without more details than "trojan!!!", it's hard to advise properly.

    just few ideas:
    - is the trojan detected repeatedly? (after rebooting, after reconnecting to internet...)
    - what was the filename and where (in which directory) was it detected?
    - which antivirus are you using actually..?
