What really has made me angry of late is Samsung wont give me my free upgrade to windows 7 until Jan 2010.

I tried to order it on the website, but cant until 1st of December 2009

I bought my notebook in September of this year, but i was not told things like this before i parted with my cash.

Which model? Have Samsung released the Windows 7 software / drivers yet. They might also need to release a BIOS update.

Judging from the reports in this forum by people who have installed Windows 7 there are a few issues to be fixed. You may prefer to wait a couple of months for a Windows 7 disc provided it installs and runs properly than to get something now which causes a few problems.

There are Windows 7 drivers and software available now on Samsung's web-site. (at least for the Q320 anyways)

The Easy Display Manager has been fixed finally!

Its the Samsung R519 notebook and all the drivers for windows 7 are on the website as well as a bios update.

Funny thing is i can go into the store where i got mine from and this notebook now comes with windows 7 pre installed.

I did speak to samsung asking why, but could not get a straight answer. It did ask if i was getting a version just for this notebook and the guy said no, it will be the standard retail package that you could buy in the shop today.

Its just Samsung dragging their heels.

The next time i need a new notebook, we will have to see if its a samsung one, other than that it has been a great purchase.

I am running the Windows 7 RC without any problems.

My other thought is that maybe Samsung get a better deal from Microsoft if they delay the release of the "free" upgrade.

That way, Microsoft can make some extra money from anyone who is impatient.
