If you asking how does 4.2 rate, it pretty good.

Most of the time, graphic is the base score(the slowest component). Mine is at 3.8 and won't go up even I overclock the CPU.

    Here's mine for the Q35 - a wonderful 2.3 as a result of the Intel 950 GPU. :D

My Q35 has 1.25GB of 533MHz RAM. The newer Q35s may score a bit better since they have faster RAM which may help the GPU.

However, since I don't like the eye candy and turn it off, the true performance is quite acceptable.

BTW, if we are comparing results, it may be useful to post the details page for the Vista index, which summarises the hardware.

How come 2 Q35 has such a wide gap in the graphic performance ? If it is the DDR2(667 vs 533), that is a pretty good reason for me to upgrade my main memory to 2x1G 667, should I need more performance(as my R40plus also use shared memory).

Speaking of which, it would make the new Q45 even more interesting if one day there is DDR2-800 for notebook.

Yes, I'm also puzzled by the range of graphics scores on the Q35. I can't recall if this is reflected by other benchmarks. (Slumbermann - did you ever run 3DMark05 or 3DMark06?)

My Q35 has an asymmetrical RAM configuration (1GB + 256MB). This, as well as the RAM being only 533MHz, could slow down the graphics. The increase in the Vista graphics score (34%) is more than the increase in the speed of the RAM (25%) and the true difference in the RAM speed will be less because the 533MHz RAM is CL=4.

The other components of the Vista Experience Index are at least as interesting as the graphics.
