    Greetings all

i have a v25 that keeps on going into standby at random intervals. i have checked all the bios settings and the windows power options as well. It goes into standby if the charger is plugged in or not, i am a bit puzzled by this, it could be something simple that i have missed-does anyone have any ideas?

What OS do you have on your laptop?

I would wonder if there's something in the XP power settings which you have overlooked. Each power profile has its own settings for when to go into standby, for both mains and battery power.

I sugggest you try using the Powercfg command.

    powercfg -standby-timeout-ac 10

would make the mains standby setting 10 minutes. I presume 0 means disabled although it is not stated.

Also upgrade XP to SP3 if you have not done so already.
