    i'm not sure what to do about what seems like a very network card. i don't see anyone else having issue with theirs and i've never had a laptop that didn't perform fine out of box. basically out of sleep mode it takes several minutes before i can get it online, often with a d/c->connect of my network. i notice it also doesn't pick up a couple networks my fullsize laptop picks up in the same room, and i never have connection issues with my fullsize either. what's the best thing to do here?

    Start by checking if there is a newer driver from the manufacturer's (Atheros?) website.

    Then look at the power management settings for the adaptor in Device Manager.

    it says there's no updates for the driver, and i'm not sure what to look for in the device manager options. i don't see a power management settings.
