    Hello,

I just purchased R540 and was checking cpu temps with CoreTemp. Core #0 is consistently running 10-15 degrees higher then core #1(35-21 varying). Is this normal?

That is an unusually large difference. 2 or 3C is common, perhaps a bit more under load. The minimum temperature is also very low unless you are living in a fridge. I would get a second opinion using HWiNFO32 (enable Sensors).

    Hi John,

the comp is in a very cool room but that low temp is a little much imo.

Wow, HWiNFO64 is a great tool. I'm not computer savvy but the diagnostics is very interesting none-the-less. I called Samsung but got a low level guy who had no clue so gave me a ticket number and told me to call back tomorrow.

    Thanks for the help John.

Thanks. A CPU core temperature lower than the HDD temperature is very unlikely. I'll be interested to know what Samsung make of this. I wonder if something is a little wrong in the BIOS. Are you using the latest version ( 08JV)?

bios/version date Phoenix Technologies Ltd 08JV.M029.20100621.hkk,21/06/2010.

Seems up to date i think John even though the date above is before the release date shown on the samsung page(05 July,2010).

Edit - i just called Samsung again and this being a holiday where iam, no specialists are available today...

I will make another attempt tomorrow.
