I have upgraded my ativ book 9 to windows 8.1 sucessfully, updated all the drivers and today I bought the micro hdmi to hdmi cable(generic cable for tablets and smartphones etc). When I put the cable in the lcd tv and plug the micro hdmi at my ativ book 9 lite nothing happens the notebook does not recognize my external tv or projetor via micro hdmi. How can I solve this? Is there any micro hdmi drivet needed to be installed or does the micro hdmi port needs to be activated somehow? Please help me

There is no special driver but you may need to press Fn+F4 a few times to tell the computer which display to use. However, once it is connected then the HDMI display device should show up in the display properties.

If there is no trace of the external display then I would try another cable. I recommend one of these adapters with a normal HDMI cable. The thinner cable used in the adapter means there is less risk of stressing the micro HDMI port.

Is there an answer to this issue? I have the same problem on Win 8.1 have tried multiple adapters - including the one on the link shared above, and have hit Fn+F4 and all the variants thereof more times than I'd care to mention... It's really annoying me now!

Thanks in advance for more inspiration

I have the exact same problem with my ATIV Book 9 Plus. Tried everything with a few different micro-htmi to hdmi converters. Please help!

I have a partial fix that I found on a Lenovo Yoga board. The micro HDMI only seems to work at a sharp upward angle. On the Lenovo board, the shaved off about a milimeter of plastic off the cable. This helps most of the Yoga folks, but only seems to help with the Samsung by creating the ability to angle the plug better. It's not a sure fix but it's not because of the monitor (I got an ASUS ProArt).

    hello,

i have a problem with connecting my samsung ativ notebook to my external monitor with HDMI (micro).
This problem has occured since a week. I bought the laptop with windows 8, but currently using windows 10 (since 6 months).

    Does anyone have any idea?

It seems to be a driver issue... with the Radeon HD 8250 AMD.
Device manager says that there is a problem with graphic drivers.....Microsoft Basic Display Adapter (No ACPI support). I tried to delete it, but after that it still did not work.

    Please help me!
