I'm actually looking for a 15 inch and I really like the designs of the Series 7 but its only offered at 1600 x 900, any chance the display will get an upgrade soon?

Only Samsung can answer that. It seems to make sense that it would happen at some point there are many 1080p 15.6" notebooks.

Isn't there a timeline when Samsung usually releases new laptops? I thought with students going back to school, they would announce some new laptop or an upgrade..

Thought I would resurrect this thread as I find myself in a similar position. I want to get a Sammy laptop with a 1080p screen.

While Asus, Sony and a few others are offering 1080p displays on >15" ultra/notebooks (lets not mention Apple), Samsung are still topping out at 1600x900 at any notebook smaller than their 17" models.

This is despite them being screen suppliers to other manufacturers and one of the biggest LCD screen producers on the planet.

It therefore baffles me why they haven't introduced such resolutions on their smaller notebooks, or atleast on their flagship Series 9.

I am living in South Korea, and as you can imagine everything here is Samsung, so logically for support reasons (and so I can get a korean/english keyboard) I am looking to buy Samsung..

I want to, but can't move down from my 15" Sony 1080p e-series, because despite it being annoyingly loud and hot (and getting slow and outdated), I just don't want the drop in resolution, I really do enjoy using a 1080p screen.

Sorry, rant over, I just needed to vent.

    Sort it out Samsung.

    Thanks for listening. :p
