Hello
For some time now, I have been interested in dual booting windows 8.1 and linux mint 17 on my notebook. Although I have linux installed on 2 other PCs, I have been hesitant to install it on my samsung notebook due to the various reports of the notebook being bricked. I would like to know if I should still be concerned about this problem or if it is okay to just go ahead with the install.
For context:

The bricking problem has almost disappeared and the relevant thread has been reasonably quiet.
I think the problem was resolved both due to action by Samsung and also some fixes for Linux.
People have installed Linux on some of the more recent Samsung notebooks without any issues and if those fixes were reflected in the most recent BIOS (less than 1 year old) for the 700Z3C/700Z5C you should find that a Linux installation doesn't cause any crises. However, there's the slight risk of the unexpected happening.
