I am planning on buying a samsung nc20 or n120 (possibly 1000he but the supposed superior keyboard has dropped that down a few notches).

I plan to install the new runcore pro iv due out next week, any ideas on any real world performance differences between these 2/3 netbooks? The NC20 has a nice 800fsb that leads me to believe it should get additional performance from the runcore? Anything else that may affect things either way?

    Cheers

    Welome to NBR!

The netbook has no influence on performance of the SSD. The performance of the SSD is independent of any other factors and hence will perform equally in either netbook. I suggest visiting the hardware forum and reading up on the new SSD thread. There is lots of info there!

Thanks for the welcome and the reply.

I see jkkmobile shows quite varying results on these netbooks. E.g.: Dell Mini 10 has considerably worse results than Asus 1000HE on CrystalDiskMark. Apparently to do with rather funky sata in the dell (not FSB as i mentioned in the original post). Thanks for the info abotu the SSD thread, will take some time to get through. :)

There's no significant difference between the NC10 and NC20 SATA performance as shown by HD Tune and HD Tach. See the attached (from my reviews).

Why a Runcore? I'd look at the Intel SSDs or Indilinx powered SSDs if I were going to put a SSD in a N120.

Oh, I didn't realize they were using the Indilinx.
