Does anyone know what easyspeedupmanager.exe actually does?
Does it really always need to be running as opposed to running once a week or exiting x minutes after login?

Does this explanation by Samsung help you understand what Easy Speedup Manager actually does?
In my experience it doesn't make anything run significantly faster but the Silent mode can be useful. It reduces fan noise (if this is a problem) by slowing down the CPU.

Thanks - that does explain it. I hadn't played with the Silent Mode feature and didn't realize that EasySpeedUpManager.exe is tied to that feature. If you kill the EasySpeedUpManager.exe process, Fn+F11 has no effect.
On Series 7, toggling Fn+F11 (assuming EasySpeedupManager.exe is allowed to run), is equivalent to using Easy Settings Control Center to enable/disable Silent Mode and also changes the Power Plan from Power Saver to Samsung Optimized. It looks like the exe is just a keyboard hook for switching those settings. -
What does Silent Mode affect?

Reduces power consumption (I assume by throttling CPU) and fan speed.

Redundant function then it seems.
