Hello everyone, I am wanting to do a optical bay caddy install on my Samsung Series 7 NP700Z5A-S0AUS . I have been looking at the ones available on modeus.com along with a Samsung 830 64g SSD. My question is what is the easiest way to load my OS and drivers without any unnecessary bloat ware. If anyone can post a walk threw I would greatly appreciate it. Also wanted to know if swapping the stock wifi card with an Intel 6230. I know my computer comes with a Intel card installed but I’m not sure of its specs.

i am on the same boat, i got my ssd, will get my caddy today(17$, ebay MBP caddy). Just pop it into the caddy, then into the drive, and use clonezilla to clone your exiting drive. I tested my new OCZ agility 3 on a lenovo modular bay laptop and got 15 sec boot time+270MBps transfer speeds, on SATA2. Will be using the same on my SS7. I am not worried at all abt bloatware bcz mine came from Microsoft store, Windows siggnature edition, no bloat.

Hey guys thanks for the info. How long do these post stay up? Thing is Im in Afghanistan right now so I will not be able to do the swap until I get home. I have about a month left so I'm hoping this info will still be up then. I just got my comp in and figured out the wifi card is the 6230 so I not going to be doing that swap.

That type of ebay item usually gets relisted frequently. Just take a note of the seller since we know that particular product works fine.
