What is the drive height of your current optical drive? They come in 12.5mm, 9.5mm and 7mm (rare) thicknesses.

You can check the specs for your current optical drive (it might be 9.5mm) then check that any proposed replacement drive has the same thickness.

Just the answer I needed! Didn't realize there were three different thicknesses.

Drive it comes with is a UJ8A7 9.5mm, I guess the same drive as a MacBook!

    Thank you for the clarification.

So your search keywords are 9.5mm slot load blu ray which should quickly lead you to some Panasonic drives and also this thread (which would have answered my question about the drive height but it's useful training for you to figure out such basics!).

Do you suitable software for playing Blu-ray discs? If not, this may be a significant additional cost.
