    Hey all,

I just need some advice, my keyboard has a problem. Intermittently my W, 2 and F2 key don't work. It's really strange, they can just stop working for 10 mins to a few hours. I can restart my lappy but with no effect. Then just as quick as they stop working they start working again. I've updated windows, uninstalled the keyboard drivers but nothing has changed.

My lappy is a Samsung NP700G7C, I've had it almost 11 months so it's still in warranty.

Have anyone ever seen this problem before?

    Many thanks in advance.

I would suggest that the keyboard connecting cable has a problem. If you are willing to remove the base then you could try reseating the cable. Otherwise contact Samsung support to arrange a warranty repair.

    Thanks John,
I have Samsung arranged a repair, they are picking it up next Monday. The only thing that concerns me is if they can't find a fault i will charged. The fault is very intermittent so there is a chance they will just boot up the lappy press a few keys and see that they are working. Hopefully they will open the lappy up and take a look at the connecting cable or maybe something else is the problem.

    Thanks

Put a note in the computer highlighting that the problem is intermittent. Hopefully, they will then check all the possible causes. You want to get the problem fixed.

Let me know how it went. I have the same problem right now and it is driving me nuts. I just googled and found this thread. I hate to have to rearrange my keys for gaming. Who can play a game without the ability to walk forward?!

    Hi Skaue,

So i ended up sending it back to Samsung and they replaced the keyboard. It drove me nuts too. I couldn't find anything on the wed about this problem so spoke to Samsung and they requested it to be sent to their repair center. The whole process took 6 days. I was lucky enough to have the laptop still in guarantee, hope your lappy is still under a year old. I did buy a wireless keyboard and used that for a while.

Hope thing will be back to normal for you soon, all the best..

Just so you know my lappy was getting so hot i couldn't hardly touch the keyboard (top left). My lapp is a gaming laptop and was still getting so so hot. I should have said, they also re-applied the silver paste.

    Laters..

LOL - I have to say you made your point :D

Now bite the bullet and send it in for repair. I doubt it is going to get better on its own. 6 days was actually a very reasonable turnaround time.
