I have the 2 year old model. I just took it apart and it appears that the onboard wifi chip is soldered to a daughterboard. Just curious if there are any videos on upgrading it to a newer unit.

Its just a standard miniPCIe wifi card, can you confirm that that is your laptop model shown in the teardown? -

There is a couple different models of that specific soldered down module, but you would need at least an hot air station and a heating bed to replace the module.Dannemand likes this.
