To all, and more in particular to John ...

Just bought a series 5 ultrabook. Good machine all in all but a few queries:

    1. The screen is not as good as my netbook N140 when it comes to playing video (normal DVD and VOB formats). Is that normal ? looks grainier ... and have some ghosting in black colours. Return for a new one or normal ?

    2. In comparison again to the N140 the HDD on the 5 series keeps clicking even when just on the Net browsing. Not loud but nevertheless

Apart from that all is OK. Just need to know if there are different screens on this same model. Also Youtubes look rather shonky.

    Thanks

IIRC the N140 display is above average. The Series 5 is a budget range and display quality is one of the likely compromises. What size display do you have? The pixel density may be lower than on the N140. Also, some of the anti-glare coatings can cause a slightly grainy appearance.

It's difficult to diagnose this issue. Does it happen on both mains and battery power?

You may find that Youtube works bettery if you change the hardware acceleration setting (right click on the video IIRC).
