Hi,
I just bought a new Samsung R540 Notebook, and i have not been able to boot it from usb flash or usb hd. It just wont boot from usb , it only boots from dvd or hdd. it shows options in bios of boot sequence, but it doesnt work. Its my first experience buying samsung and its crappy. I can boot my other notebooks (Dell , HP , Lenovo) they all work fine.
How can i fix it?

Did you check the BIOS for USB options? There's usually an option to enable / disable legacy USB support. If so, try changing that setting.
Did you also find the way to get the boot device options menu? If my memory this is by pressing Esc while the BIOS screen is showing. That will show the devices available for the current boot (and also provides a link to the BIOS setup).

Hi,
Yes , i did check in the BIOS and my usb gets discovered there and i prioritize the usb as device 1 to boot. and have tried with usb legacy support on and off. dint work on either. I have tried different types of usb drives even. nada.
Samsung notebook just wont boot. and its strange cuz its the latest notebook out there. Did they forgot to put that option in ?
