I have a Chronos 7 NP700Z5C and just recently updated a bunch of my drivers after putting it off for months.

My TouchPad driver is now version 11.7.19.9.

When I scroll with two fingers it is jumpy and when I scroll and then just leave my two fingers stationary, the screen twitch-scrolls up and down without stopping. When I try to scroll with my left hand, it won't do anything at all (which is just weird).

The biggest problem by far is that when I try to drag a file while clicking one of the physical buttons, the cursor goes haywire, making it impossible to use.

I've tried changing every setting imaginable to no avail. I also tried rolling back the driver but the rolled back version didn't even list it as a TouchPad anymore and refused to let me scroll at all.

Anyone else run into this or have any suggestions? Maybe a last known stable driver that I could find somewhere?

You can use the Find Model facility in SWupdate to look for other versions of the touchpad driver.

I see that 11.7.19.9 is offered for Windows 8.1 on the Z5C but 11.7.5.5 is offered for Windows 8. That is probably a good place to start.
