    Hello,

Some time ago my laptop bricked due to win 8.1 update. No recovery possible. I want to try to write new BIOS to the CMOS chip using BUS Pirate. But for that I need 8mb BIOS binary ROM image. Unfortunately on Samsung's website there's only 6mb BIOS in 'cap' format.

Now I'm looking for a good soul with NP700Z7C (ideally S02UK) laptop that would be kind enough to backup his/her BIOS and send it to me.

I'm not sure if proper bios backup is possible with Samsung's bios update tool. Maybe CMOS De-Animator would work?

    Hello Falathar,

You want to check our BIOS rollback thread. I am currently away from my PC, but if you check the sticky list at the top of the Samsung forum, it contains a link to it.

In addition to general discussion, that thread also contains a utility to help search for specific BIOS files from Samsung's database.

    Hi Dannemand,

Thanks for the tip. I know that thread, but for my bios (most probably P03ABP) there's only that *.cap file which is only 6mb and cannot be used with flashrom. That's why I need someone with same laptop model to make bin rom image.

OK, I see. I take it you also tried searching for it using the utility attached somewhere inside that thread.

Let's hope someone here can help you :)
