    Hi all,

Thanks in advance for the help. This has been bugging me for a while now ..

I'm running Windows 8 64-bit. My laptop is the NP550P5C model. Everything was working fine for a while, until suddenly (I think maybe after some automatic Windows updates?), the Settings application just won't launch and all the Fn keys stop working.

If I click on the Settings app manually, I'd see a UAC prompt. Clicking yes on the UAC prompt shows nothing. No error messages, nothing happens. I've tried reinstalling Settings but the same problem persists. Quite lost on what to do here, apart from doing a clean OS reinstall as a last resort. Would appreciate any help ! Thanks !

Did you try to re-install the settings application?

Yes, uninstalled Settings and reinstalled from SW Update ... still no luck.

Edit: problem solved by doing a clean reinstall of Windows.
