Hi all. My trusty 2012 Samsung Series 9 (NP900X3C-A02UK) is still going strong, but I've noticed it slowing down after start up. Windows 10 loads fine (and quickly) but it then takes an age for it to be able to do things like open Chrome or register mouse clicks or key presses. Occasionally, 10 or 15 minutes after I've turned it on and after Windows has loaded, I get a series of beeps from the internal speaker. Sometimes 3, sometimes 4, sometimes 5 and once 7. I think these are BIOS error codes, but I can't find anywhere online that lists what the number of beeps means for my laptop. Can anyone help out? Thanks in advance!

The core computer BIOSes are created by a small number of companies https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BIOS . Computer manufacturers then licence a BIOS which they customise for their specific needs. A comment here suggests that Samsung have used an AMI BIOS in which case the list here may apply. However, I would normally expect such beeps to occur within a few seconds of the computer starting while the BIOS is still loading and hasn't yet started to load Windows. I wonder if you are experiencing an input buffer overload which could occur if the computer is busy doing nothing due to an underlying problem.
How much free space have you got on the SSD? I recall that the SSDs bundled with those Samsung notebooks didn't cover themselves with glory at the best of times and I wonder if a new SSD such as this (512GB available for a little more money) would give the computer a new lease of life. You'll also need a backup storage drive and a copy of Macrium Reflect.
