I've read through endless topics on Series 7 issues.
Based on my understanding, I believe that the
    a) Wifi issue is either solved or resolvable with the new ivy bridge z5c
    b) Touchpad still bad with Z5c, but I am not going to use it anyway
    c) The screen is still the same as it was before. I understand that this is not the Apple-style perfect display, but is it really that bad?

Unfortunately, there's no Z5c on display here (and neither Z5A,b) so I can't gather personal experience, but I do have a T410 in front of me, and have a Samsung X60 at home. Hence the question.

Is there anyone who could comment on Series 7 15.6" display vs. Thinkpad T410/420 display in terms of light leakage, contrast, and viewing angles?
    Thanks a lot.

i cannot comment on the comparison, but to my experience the series 7 display is:

    1. with the proper ICC profile it is a very nice screen and good to use under all conditions
    2. viewing angles are not bad at all ( i can turn the laptop around and still see enough from the side)
    3. colours are great and very realistic - only the blacks could be "deeper"
    4. I got used to the mousepad and can use it comfortably when needed.

oh, it's the ICC profile that was posted in one of the threads in this forum you can find it here This profile was created with a spidercolor, I think it's a hardware tool to calibrate screens.

after the ICC install i put the samsung easy setting colour setting to "standard" and it looks great! (sharp was too much contrast for my taste)
