    Hi

The other day I plugged in a USB dongle for my Plantronics Bluetooth headset and ever since then, the internal audio speakers and audio jack have stopped outputting sound. The levels show that there is audio playing, but no sound.

Samsung's deeply useless advice was to re-install the OS back to factory settings.

Can anyone think of what might be causing this to happen? Can any of you recommend a less drastic solution? Maybe re-installing the audio drivers? If so, do you know where to locate them?

    Thanks

PS - the trackpad sucks so bad!

Well I found the drivers through the Easy Software Management tool (and from the website) but it says they are all up to date so I don't know where to proceed from here. Any ideas?

    Thanks.

Get the driver here. Do a reinstall.

    Hi yknyong1

I have already downloaded the latest drver to my desktop (Nov 25th driver) but Iam informed that my driver is up to date - is there a way to override that? Will it help if I do? Thanks.

Go to devmgmt.msc or Device manager, right click the audio codec, properties---> Uninstall device drivers. Then try installing again.

    Hi

Do you think it's the Generic USB Audio Device, Intel Display Audio or the RealTek High Def Audio drivers that need updating? Which one is the laptop actually using? Thanks.

Finally go it working again! Uninstalled the default audio driver and the Realtek driver (this controls the Mic) - downloaded the audio driver from the Samsung website and after installing it, then disabling it, then re-enabling it and testing it, it seemed to work. Now I have to plug in my USB Bluetooth headset and see if it does all that again. Think I might check the headset website first for any recent Windows driver updates.
