I have had a Samsung Series 5 Ultra for about 4 years now. Recently, however, the battery seems to have been acting really funky. One day it simply shut down despite not even being less than 50% full. When I plug in the charger, the battery light is blinking green and orange on and off. I then proceed to turn it on while charging and once its fully starts up, the light continues to blink the same way but when i hover my mouse key over the battery icon, it says "0% available, plugged in not charging".

So then I decided to turn it off completely and leave it charging for a few hours. When I start it up then, it shows the battery power at 99%. However, i use it for about 15 minutes and then it completely shuts down on me again to 0%.

What's odd is that when i open CPUID HW monitor, it shows my battery wear level is at 99%. Amidst all this funkiness, is it likely my battery has failed on me and I should consider ordering a new one? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I think it's time for a new battery.

The battery wear is calculated from the original capacity and current capacity data. However, if the battery is very bad then it may not be able to update the data stored in the chip.
