    Hi all.

I was trying to make my expresscache work lately under Windows 8.1.

Forum seniors were reporting that expresscache Works in Windows 8.1 but mine wasn't.

And by trial and error, I found the case: Intel chipset drivers and expresscache driver conflicts.

My model is np540u3c and after a full reinstall of Windows 8.1 and all the updates I installed SW update.

Got the expresscache 1.0.100 driver from another new samsung model, installed the settings v 2.0.0.52 (version that came installed with win8). And stopped at that. I didnt want to install chipset drivers as generic ones from Windows was working fine.

Everything was working dandy expresscache was utilizin a 9gb of cache and my system was its top performace. Until I decided to install the chipset driver offered by SW update. Everything went down. Cache started to flush each restart to 70Mb, system was underperforming with stutters freezes etc.

So I think that intel chipset drivers are conflicting with expresscache driver. Since I didn't know how to remove the installed SW update chipset driver, i did a complete reinstall of OS again, without installing the chipset driver of SW update, eveything is fine again. Expresscache is working flawless.

So for you guys WHO can't get expresscache to work under Windows 8.1, check out if the intel chipset drivers are installed by SW update, if so, uninstall them by any means, generic drivers of Windows Works just fine. And expresscache will come back to life again.

I wanted to share this as some may experiencing the same issue with me because it seems to me that without expresscache drivers this ultrabooks even underperforms a standard HDD speed.

    Have a good day.
