I am just curious what is happening to the Series 3, especially with the 11.6" version. I really like this laptop that has a lot of potential and is within a reasonable price range. I only hear about the S7 and S9 but nothing else.
It is currently the only 11.6" ultra-book on a budget.

Has anybody heard any news about future development of the series 3?

I'd rather see a 11.6" Series 9 with top-of-the line (full HD) screen.

Samsung's global download site has an NP300U1C on its list, but no other details and google can't find any site with more detail. So it looks like an update to the NP300U1A is in the pipeline. Available specs for other models with the C suffix indicate they are Ivy Bridge.

I still don't see any refresh of the series 3 11.6". It's been discountinued and now it's hard to find. Was it maybe because it was cutting market share from the series 9? However I am extremely happy with this machine and with 8 GB of ram and an SSD it can easily compete with a lot other machines. The only bottleneck for me it's the cpu and lack of USB 3.0. What's so great is that most ultrabooks have limited ports, but this S3 has hdmi, 3 usb, vga, card reader, ethernet. There is not ultrabook for this price that can beat it.

I saw on Samsung korea website that they have new 12.5" models but nothing about an 11.6.

    Does anybody know anything?

I see there is little interest in this forum for the S3. Is there another samsung forum?

I'm only speculating but maybe Samsung didn't sell a lot in this size range and had to discount their stock which would explain (i) the lack of other users of this model and (ii) the lack of a replacement. They could also consider that the size is getting too close to a big tablet.
