I can't eject the disk on my series 5. I Had just just done back up and reinstall of windows so now everytime i turn the notebook it wants to install again. FN + DEL doesn't work and as it's a series 5 it has the slot type cd.

does anyone have any sugestions apart form opeing the dam thing up..

There usually is a small pin hole, use a paper clip in there to press the emergency eject.

it's a slot entry so no tray and no pin hole.

Ah, those are motorized so a bit tougher. Can it be ejected from, or while in, the bios?

if you use the F2 and are in bios then the FN shortcut does not work to eject? Same if you use F4 just to enter recovery, the shortcut does not work. It may be the keyboard driver needs to run first, I am not sure if using safe mode will get that for you, assuming you can enter safe mode.

Assuming it, windows, is installed had you tried F10 or F12 as these are usually boot options.

Neither f10 or f12 does anything, can get to f8 vi f4 but it's not helping me in anyway.

hi, i did but it was like the disk was locked down in the centre.. anyway I called up several repair shaops and they all quoted to remove nd take aprt the disk drive.. for the cost i decded to do it myself so i now have the disk out after 20 mins careful removal.

blocked the drive slot from the back so i dont accidentaly put a disk in, just need to reload windows now via usb disk drive or HD.
