Guys! Need help installing my new sandisk extreme 240 GB SSD drive in my series 7.

Can anyone walk me through step by step?
I am planning to do a clean install and want to know is it necessary to transfer the recovery partition from the factory HDD and any other stuff I have to do?

This is my first time installing an ssd so any help would be great!

    Thanks a lot guys!

I would clone the existing HDD onto the SSD (assuming that the material on the HDD is less than 240GB).

To do the cloning you will need:
    (i) A USB (preferably USB 3.0 for extra speed) external enclosure that can hold a 2.5" disc drive.; and
(ii) Cloning software (choose from here). I personally use Acronis which also makes backup images of discs or partitions. However, you may need to research which software will let you clone to a target that is smaller than the source.

    Thanks for the suggestion!

But I would prefer to do a clean install.

I already have some weird problems going on with windows startup & and windows updates!
I just started backing up my data and teracopy shows around 2 hours remaining!

The clean install is feasible. However, before you take out the current drive first do a backup of the drivers and software using Samsung Recovery Solution. On the factory installation the Samsung Recovery Solution Screen looks like this:

    [IMG] (click on link)

Use the option on the right to make the backup disc. That option seems to disappear if the recovery partition is not available. The backup disc should contain a full set of the drivers and software provided with the computer, not all of which are available for download. You can choose which to install using the Easy Software Manager interface provided on the disc.
