My Samsung R430 looks and performs great. However there are a whole lot of battery problems. I have changed the battery twice, each time costing me about $100 for an original one from the Samsung dealer.

I am given only a 7-day warranty, and I can understand why. Twice, the battery was damaged within one month, ie, it could no longer be charged and the laptop can only run when plugged into the wall socket.

The battery is easily damaged, when you charge it for more than 6 or 7 hours, which is sometimes unavoidable, because it is difficult to remember to unplug it every time.

The Samsung agent in Singapore is unfortunately very protective of its own position within regard to customer service, and they promptly tell me that they are not responsible for the battery past the 7 days of purchase! It is incredible that something that is so simple, costs so much, but yet lasts so short.

Next time, be careful about the brand you purchase, as it is not always about the looks and the specs. All the supporting parts must be lasting, and importantly supported by a customer-considerate agent.

The computer should stop charging the battery once it is fully charged. does the power icon show that the battery is always on charge? If so, check the battery charge level (use HWiNFO and press the Sensors button).
