    Hello,

I have NP-300V5A-S04 laptop and got some problems.

Sometimes system gets no response for while, I see lags ect on fresh installed system... I've heard it can be due to huge amount of Samsung crap bloatware installed with drivers so I have ask you for help getting pure drivers only.

SW Update won't give me pure drivers, only mass of bloatware.

    1. First problem is WLAN card. I have Centrino N-130 but any available driver is with proSet bundle. MS Windows 7 will NOT install windows driver for this card, it doesn't recognize it completely. So what is driver for this WLAN card?
    2. What should be my next move regarding drivers?
    3. Recovery Solution - is it possible to make your own copy of the system and it will restore it or it always restores only system with pre-installed bloatware?

    Thank you.

    Welcome to NBR.

You generally want to use the Samsung provided drivers (from SW Update) but you don't have to install everything it offers. And some drivers you can use OEM versions instead.

I'm not at my pc now, making linking difficult. If you check the Samsung Forum Sticky List, there is a link with a comprehensive Win7 install guide specifically for Samsung laptops. You may want to follow that for a slim installation.

There is also a link in that list called WiFi Remedies for Samsung laptops which should help locate slimmer WiFi drivers

AND there is also a link for backing up and recreating your Recovery, which includes lots of other Recovery advice.

    Thank you for reply,

I have just installed about 200 Windows Updates and the following:

Of course there are a bit older versions for my laptop but I used this post: http://forum.notebookreview.com/samsung/688064-how-reduce-latencies-samsung-laptops.html#post8840854

Now I am stuck with Easy Settings. I don't understand you guys - it's been plenty said that Easy Settings will make your system slow. But question is how much slow?
There is advice to put Settings version 2.0 "hacked" but I read: http://forum.notebookreview.com/samsung/688064-how-reduce-latencies-samsung-laptops-6.html#post8985846

You can see Settings are so messed up can change some things in system, ie. boot order.

Do you know there is some good version of this app? Without it I cannot use my Fn keys.

Those Easy Settings hacks only work with the old version 1.x. The newer versions 2.x are much better behaved -- relatively speaking -- but load differently, and you don't want to mess with them. That's why I didn't refer to that thread in my last reply.

The Sticky List also has a link to a thread named Settings/Easy Settings - What you need to know. It has pointers to the latest versions.

Still, if you want the ultimate slimness, sideloading the EasyDisplayManager module from V1.x is the only way.

Thx, I managed to install pure drivers where it was possible and installed Easy Settings 2.

So far no lags, no hickups like it was before, finally enjoying smooth Windows.

I am coming from Asus laptop and must say their software is far lighter, I mean no so much bloatware compared to Sammy.

Good. Thank you for the update.

Again, you don't have to install most of the stuff offered by SW Update. Chipset, basic drivers and Easy Settings are really all you need. Instead of HECI I usually install the Intel ME driver from Windows Update.

Our Win7 install guide for Samsung laptops is in this post, and it specifically keeps bloat to a minimum.
