I upgraded my daughters X460 laptop to Windows7 professional x64. In retrospect it was probably a mistake to go 64bit, but it was during the xmas break while she was home and I was in a rush. (I have the MS Action Pack Subscription). Everything went fine and the computer ran better than ever.

Now she wants to use an external monitor and of course none of the Samsung utilities were loaded and the Fn+F4 switch must be software activated, and doesn't work. Samsung tech support has been useless. I even offered to purchase a Win7 upgrade from them, but they don't have a clue, and asked me to have my daughter call in, and were very rude.

Their only suggestion was to install their Easy Display Manager s/w which seems to only adjust resolution settings.
Is there a way to get the external monitor switch to work with Win7? Will Win7 32 bit and some drivers do the trick?, or do I need to revert back to the original Vista OS?

    Thanks for any suggestions.

Easy Display Manager should handle the Fn key commands. There should be a 64-bit version around for one of the new Samsung models.

Thanks, I tried several versions of Easy Display Manager from other models, but no joy. (they were marked 32/64bit) which seems unlikely. I guess I will try a new install of Win7 32bit and see if that if that helps.
