Hi there, do any of you use the X460 to play games, I am finding that it is getting pretty hot, (83oC GPU and 80 CPU) when i play Left 4 Dead without overclocking, and I was just wondering if this was normal...
Was it worth updating the bios with the recent January release on the Samsung site or shall i go back to the original?

I just got my x460 this week, it is badass! light, fast, sleek etc. anyway i thinkg the question should be what video card driver are you using. I have been experimenting with some drivers from http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/ and testing my 3dmark06 scores. tried 182.06 got the best performance 2141 but seems my fans were running more with just web browsing and youtube, so i am now trying the latest from nvidia 2084 3dmark score but fans hardly come on when surfing etc. but still might go back to 182.06 driver.
I havent looked into updating the bios yet interested to see what it would improve if anything. -
I have just stuck to the nVidia releases? Brightness control is lost with all the other drivers i have tried..

jack up the back of the notebook so the back tilts up that should drop it by like 10 degrees good luck

2 degrees only? How high are you tilting the back?

I have it elevated with a book! So i would say that is sufficient...

As this driver is not compatible with mine? :S -
9200m gs, did you try to install it? works perfectly for me dont know why it wouldnt work with your laptop, i have the 44p model and i think the graphics cards are the same for all x-460's

I get 'nvidia setup could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware'

I'm running 179.48. Warhammer Online plays well. I had some slight choppiness on the intro cutscene and loading images, but resolved that by swiching the speedstep to Speed mode. That also changs the power saver setting to performance. The main difference I see is that max processor speed goes from 50% to 100%, though I'm sure there are other changes. It runs War better than I expected at minimum graphic settings. It does get somewhat warmer than when just surfing, but still easy on the lap and cooler than my old HP ZD7000.
