Could you tell me whether Samsung offers at international warranty for its laptops?

We are going on a round the world trip and are thinking of buying a Samsung laptop in Australia. Will it be covered in the UK?

We will be visiting Egypt, Dubai, Australia, the US and Canada on our travels. Is Australia the cheapest place to buy Samsung laptops?

    Thanks

I think that to find out the warranty coverage, you need to look at the Samsung national website for the country where you buy the computer. Samsung Australia does not list notebooks among the available products. Last year, a few suppliers were listing the Q35, but these seem to be disappearing. Samsung Middle East does not list computers either.

So you end up with the UK as being the only country on your list where Samsung notebooks are sold. This page discusses warranty support while a list of International service centres is here.

Regarding pricing in the UK, if you are only staying the UK for a short time and then exporting the computer to outside of EU then you can reclaim VAT (17.5%). You will need to get the retailer to provide the appropriate paperwork at the time of purchase.

Have you looked at LG notebooks? I have seen them in Dubai, they are listed in Australia but are not sold in UK (shame, since I like the look of them).

you could try uk or so as im sure theyre amply avaialble there and i aint so knowledgable about australia
if you could wait a bit more you could wwait till october when the ce-bit is to be held in turkey and buy it from there

samsung laptops are listed on the Australian website but the link is not easy to find http://www.samsung.com/au/products/notebookpcs/index.asp

I couldn't find any information on an international warranty.

I am actually British so I am hoping to claim back GST on leaving Australia.

    Does LG do 14' laptops?

    Thanks

Thanks for these clarifications and the link to the Samsung Australia notebook page. I suggest that you try to contact Samsung Australia and ask if they plan to stock the R20 anytime soon. Maybe it will arrive together with the Q45 and R70 since they were all officially launched at CeBIT.

LG does do 14" notebooks such as the T1.

Question for shaheenarshan : Did you see the Samsung R20 in Dubai?

    Thanks for the clarification.

If you do see any shops in Dubai with a reasonable selection of Samsung notebooks then it would be useful to include their details in the Where to Buy Samsung notebooks thread.
