Also, two weeks ago, when i tried to install windows Vista the same problem happen, this time during instaltion process (this last problem seems don't happen when i disconect the AC. but i am not sure.), so i have returned to Windows XP Pro and surprise the problem with Visual Studio SP1 happen.
i have tried to solve this problems updating BIOS to 05SD,23SD and 25SD.

    Welcome.

If I understand you correctly, Visual Studio SP1 causes your Q35 to shutdown when running under XP Pro, and also trying to install Vista caused a shutdown.

A couple of clarifications: (i) Is it a shutdown or a reboot without a BSOD? (ii) Was the problem with Vista during Vista installation or trying to install Visual Studio SP1 under Vista? Also, did you reformat before reinstalling XP (the Samsung recovery CD does this automatically)?

The underlying question is whether there is something about the Q35 which some Microsoft products don't like. We know that there is no major incompatibility between the Q35 and Vista because Samsung are selling Q35s with Vista ready installed.

I can think of two slightly unusual aspects of the Q35 hardware: (1): It has only one IDE channel shared by both the HDD and ODD; and (2). The on-board RAM doesn't get properly detected. CPU-Z knows it is there but can't find out the details. I can see from this list of VS 2005 problems that memory can be an issue.

I hope these thoughts help. If not, I suggest that you join a Visaul Studio forum to see if anyone else with similar hardware has encountered a similar problem.
