    Does anyone know if Samsung are going to release a series 9, 15 inch version with 512 GB SSD in the UK ?

    I have seen that in Germany, Austria and in Hong Kong there is a similar type of series 9 version which has 512 SSD and 8GB ram and 15 inch.

    I want exactly this version but UK localized keyboard,

    Samsung Notebook Serie 9 900X4C A0A - TECHNISCHE DATEN

    Any help, rumors, suggestions would be very much appreciated.

    Samsung UK have persistently neglected the 15" Series 9 so, while there is now a 13" Series 9 with a good spec, there's no trace of any equivalent 15" model. However, with Haswell imminent we might see an updated 15" Series 9. There may be news about UK releases on 20th June.

    If you are happy with the 3317U (I have no complaints about its performance) then get the available UK X4C / X4D and do a DIY SSD upgrade. I have been using the 256GB Crucial m4 mSATA SSD for 10 months and the 480GB M500 mSATA SSD is imminent.

    It is a shame that Samsung UK are neglecting the updated versions of the 15 inch, unlike other countries around the world. Is there a reason why Samsung UK are taking this act ?

    I am not a computer wiz but generally most important for me is 15 inch, Series 9 with 512 GB SSD. Therefore, if I understand your answer correctly, is it possible to buy the Series 9, 15 inch with 128 GB SSD and upgrade it to 480 or 512 GB SSD ?

    If a buy say,

    Samsung NP900X4D 15-inch HD+ (1600 x 900) Series 9 LED Notebook

    is it upgradable ? That's the only 15 inch version I see in the Samsung UK website.

    Samsung UK is promising some announcements on 20th June. We wait to see whether that includes a new 15" Series 9. They have been clearing out the existing stock: A month or so ago Amazon were selling off the NP900X4C-A01UK for under £800.

    Yes. Upgradeable but not officially. Get a good quality Philips size 0 screwdriver and remove the 10 screws that secure the base. You can then upgrade both the RAM and the SSD. Keep the original parts and replace if you need warranty service.
