    Hi all.

    I need some advice.

I have an NP900X4C with a 256GB SSD and 8GB RAM. Windows 8.1 is installed, I upgraded from Windows 8 factory bloat to the Windows 8.1 preview.
Later reinstalled Windows 8.1 using the OEM key I sucked out of the BIOS.

Firstly, recovery does work, I have tested this during boot pressing F4, and within Windows using the recovery application.
I created a bootable USB key containing the factory recovery image. It didn't boot at first (even though I selected to make it bootable) so I copied all the files on the key to my NAS and reformatted the key using diskpart and made the first partition active, then copied all the files back to the key.

I can now boot from the USB key into recovery. The problem is I am not finding the recovery solution menu intuitive.

My plan is now to wipe the entire drive and reinstall Windows 8.1 to take advantage of the new space. I have not had a problem with Windows 8.1 although I would like to review the drivers used, there is some difference in what Software Update and Windows Update suggest - not a biggie.

So, my question is can I be confident I have the recovery information I need to later perform a recovery back to the Windows 8 factory bloat?
Will recovery repartition the disk and populate the recovery partition? What do the options in the USB recovery actually mean? (they are slightly different to those available through F4 and Samsung Recovery in Windows)

    Thanks.

I have since removed the recovery partition, then recreated it using 8.1 with latest MS patches.
I can now restore to my 8.1 image

May I ask how? Do you have working F4?
