Ok, so I took the back of my Samsung Series 9 900X Ultrabook - with a bit of issue...
I actually had to drill-out a couple of the screws that just would not budge with a correct size screwdriver.
    Anyway, all done ok now.

But, I need to replace the two damaged screws.

Where can I get them??? I obviously am looking for a perfect match.

    Cheers!

Does no one have any ideas?
I've tried a few M2x3, and m2x4 flat head screws, but not are the same...

    :(

I've just been comparing one of those screws to those in my collection (which I couldn't do when you originally posted due to being in a different continent). It looks like an M2 (the thread fits) and is between 3 and 5 mm long but it has a special thin head with small slot.

Looking thorough the X3C parts list at samsungparts.com reveals part # 6001-002784 with description "CH,+,M2,L4,ZPC(BLK),STS304 SCREW-MACHINE" and part # 6001-002734 "CH,+,-,M2,L4,SS48SUS(BLK), SCREW-MACHINE". They are not listed under those numbers by Digicare.

You could contact Digicare - they ought to have them in case their technicians damage screws during service or you might be able to order from samsungparts.com or from the Samsung service agent in the Netherlands (I would hope their price is for a pack of 10!). Part 6001-002734 appears to be compatible with more models and is probably the better one to get (the X4 bottom screws are the same). Google lists more sources for 6001-002734.

Did you figure out which of these two are for the back cover. I have the same problem with NP900X3C.

    I guess I should go for 002734?

Guys, have you managed to get those screws? I am also looking for a set of them. For 730U3E acutally, but as per John's description, they should be the same. M2 and 4mm long

    Hey guys,

I ordered 6001-002784 for my np900x3f-g01de - they fit perfectly.
I'm not sure but they seem to look a little bit more shiny, but that might be just my imagination.

I paid more than 17Euro for two screws with shipping (5.x € for one screw) , but that was the cheapest offer I found in Germany (ersatzteilblitz.de if you need to order those from Germany).

We recently had a discussion about the screws in another thread (which I can't find) but as a consequence I ordered a bag of assorted small screws which have just arrived.

None are exactly the same length as the Series / Book 9 base screws (which measure as 3.5mm thread length) but two have the right diameter head (4mm - the D=4 in the description). Of these one (M2x3 D=4) is a little shorter and the other (M2x4 D=4) is a little longer than the screws in my NP900X4C although the 4mm length is the same as in the spare part description given above. However, while the 3mm screw head is the same thickness as the original screws so they fit flush in the recesses in the base, the 4mm screw has slightly thicker head which doesn't go completely flush (but would anyone notice?).

The original screw is in the middle

The short screws would probably be fine if only a few get used to replace screws that are lost or damaged although I'd be cautious about making them really tight in case they strip the thread in the holes and the longer screws will work if the holes are deep enough. A hint of Loktite (or nail varnish) on the threads will stop them coming loose.

There are over 20 screws of each size so I'll have plenty of spare screws if ever needed.
