Going on 1 week with this laptop. Couple of problems, but beautiful package.
    1. Touchpad quit working after launching WOW. Had to uninstall drivers, then reinstall drivers.
    2. World of Warcraft is getting an absurd 15fps.

So the 8870 is nice, just not sure what gives with these weak links.

A quick checklist regarding to your gaming performance:

Is the laptop plugged in? Have you turned off silent mode? Have you made sure you are running the game on the 8870m (you can do this through the switchable graphics app)? What are your power settings?

And make sure the game is using the correct GFX card and not the integrated one (check in the ATI catalyst settings). The 8770 is a Nvidia 650M equivalent so definitely more than decent enough for WoW.

It was plugged in, and I did (from what I know how to do) put Catalyst on high performance for wow.exe. Not certain what silent mode is. I also noticed when playing Smite (Hi-Rez Studios) game that my character would disappear sporadically, similar setting.

Press Fn F1 for the samsung settings and go to the General settings >silent mode. Disable it if enabled. Fn F11 works too.

Silent mode cuts the performance of the cpu by a great amount so that the fans wouldn't turn on.

Well it must have been the fan setting. when fan mode auto it would hover around 15 on ultra in wow (a relatively low graphic game IMO compared to some of the sweet new games. With silent off it whirrs and the frame rate jumped up to 42.

    Thanks for the help pranktank!

now if i can figure out how to run linux on the beast I'll be satisfied =D
