    Talked w/a Samsung tech specialist today
    ( John H. - Service Ticket #2113485568 )
    He assured me that the ONLY difference between the SO1US & SO3US
    is the hard drive capacity & speed, and he thinks, but is not positive it is an Amazon exclusive item. Good news for all of us here I think..

    IF, you can live w/Amazon's neanderthal return policy.

    I just talked to a Samsung rep and besides the hard drive difference, they also stated that the NP700Z7C-S03US has a 1GB graphics card as opposed to a 2GB graphics card in the NP700Z7C-S01US. Not sure if this is accurate but this has basically made up my mind for me, buy the S01US and just upgrade the hard drive.

    No idea from Samsung team. But their estimate is in the next 2-4 weeks.

    Just pulled the trigger and bought the S03US from Amazon - before noticing the graphics card memory is only 1MB. I don't use dual monitors. Do you think the 1MB difference will be limiting for me?

    Are we gonna have to wait until someone gets one of these to find out if the 650M has DDR3 or DDR5? If it's still DDR5 this laptop would be perfect for me.

    How does the reduced memory (1GB) on the GPU affect gaming?

    Is there any advantage to reduced GPU memory, in terms of heat or power or anything?

    If one plans to swap out the HDD for an SDD anyways, which a lot of people are doing with the S01, why not just get the S01US since it has more memory on the GPU?

    1 GB is fine. In fact, I highly doubt you will ever find a game that will demand more than 1.

    For me, That link still says "in stock August 7th". And my order says expected delivery Aug 10 so I think Aug 7th is correct - for Oregon.
