Thought I'd start this thread as like many people I am hoping Santa might but me a game or two for my new laptop.
Would be great if someone could let me know if Skyrim runs o.k.?
Hopefully Santa knows now that Rage definitely does not work!

Call of Duty: Black Ops, Skyrim, Just Cause 2, Orcs Must Die, Shank, Super Meat Boy, Left 4 Dead 2, Team Fortress 2, and Starcraft 2 all work on one setting or another. The only game I am having issues with is Battlefield 3. The game loads and actually plays. I got a few kills even, but the GUI simply does not load. I have no HUD and I cannot tell friend from foe. I may try a reinstall to see if it works but we shall see.

Minecraft doesn't work, It use OpenGL so the AMD Card does not activate even if you select "high performance" mode. The game can be played but almost any option has to be set to minimun to get >30fps.

LoL works but when you try to click on a champion (to buy or view skins etc), the pop up is all black and you have to force close the whole game.

I've raided on highest settings with no problems. I believe though that each time you start dcuo it auto sets them to normal so you'd have to keep upping the options.

Minecraft works for me with original drivers and with Leshcat's drivers, but in both cases it uses only Intel Card, so the FPS are pretty slow (better with Leshcat's but slow anyways)

Got Skyrim...Wow, amazing graphics but Skyrim options show Intel adaptor and low quality settings? I have configured skyrimlauncher.exe and TESV.exe to high performance. Has anyone got Skyrim options to show AMD graphics? Not sure if it may be actually using the AMD card but just not showing it? Any ideas anyone?

I bumped it to medium and it still ran fine. I am under the impression its on the radio cause I don't think Intel could pump the results and my battery suggests it too

    Speaking of games...

I recently purchased Deus Ex: Human Revolution from Amazon when it was 9.99.

The Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Setup v1.03 that I can launch before actually launching the game shows

Display Adapter: Mobile Intel(R) HD Graphics (1)
    Output: Generic PnP Monitor (1)
    Resolution: 1600 x 900
    Refresh Rate: 60Hz
    Brightness: (Slider)

Has anyone else out there been able to change the display adapter to show the AMD Radeon 6750M?

So games show the Intel graphics, but do they actually use that or can people crank up the settings to prove that games are using the AMD ones?

Whats this laptop like for gaming. Can I play the following games at 1600x900 with decent frame rates > 30fps :-

    Mass Effect 2
    Res Evil 4 + Mods
    Dead Space
    NFS Hot Pursuit
    Modern Warfare 2
    Super Street Fighter 4 AE
    GTA IV
    Dolphin Emulator

I'm not fussed about having high AA/AF but just want to play at native 1600x900

Hello everyone, i can play star wars the old republic on everything high and battlefield 3 mix of medium/high fine but i am having issue when playing shogun: total war. The game only detects the intel even when put to high performance in the switchable graphics menu, because of this i can only play the game on low settings and nothing higher without it lagging.

edit: i have the none modded 12.1 drivers from amd installed as well.

Sorry if I shouldn't post it here but it is related.

Does the 6750M support OpenCL or not. I run the executable on high performance but I get "no gpu found".

So I am wondering if it is like games not recongnising the 6750M or OpenCL is not supported?

I played COD MW3 on high settings after manually setting it to high performance so that works fine with the 6750M.

Geeks3D GPU Caps Viewer reports support for "OpenCL 1.1, Caicos compute units:2@750MHz", regardless of whether I have the Intel or AMD graphics selected, and the demos seem to work.

I don't know what executable you're having trouble with.

The executable are from the AMD OpenCL sdk. I get "no gpu found.Falling back to CPU" and it executes on the CPU.

Geeks3D GPU Caps Viewer reports "OpenCL 1.1, CPU compute units:8@2195MHz"
and I have also tried the High Performance.

The OpenCL benchmark does not execute and the OpenGL 2.x runs on the Integrated Graphics.

I've tested the following Steam titles, all at native resolution on the 15.6" Chronos (1600 x 900). I didnt log the framerates, but found performance either acceptable or excellent at the following settings:

Medal of Honor (2010) - Medium / High no AA
Crysis - High no AA or 2X
    Fear - Max + AA + AF
    Fear 2 - Max + AA + AF
    Half Life 2 / Episode 1 / Episode 2 - Max + AA + AF
    Bioshock - Max + AA + AF
Call of Duty 2 - Max + AA + AF
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare - Max + AA + AF
    Portal - Max + AA + AF
    Team Fortress 2 - Max + AA + AF
Medal of Honor: Airborne - Max + AA + AF (make sure to fix the video card error issue first: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELkzl-IlxlI )
Counter Strike: Source - Max + AA + AF

I'll add to this list as I test other titles.

If anyone has Age of Empires 3, Counter Strike: Source, and/or runescape, could you please test it out @ full 1600x900 resolution?

I'm not sure if it matters, but I'm looking at the 14" in particular.

    Thanks.

    Far Cry 2
    • Average Framerate: 36.65
    • Max. Framerate: 52.42 (Frame:1712, 47.42s)
    • Min. Framerate: 24.68 (Frame:506, 12.80s)

    Settings:
    1440x900 (60Hz), D3D10, Fixed Time Step(No), Disable Artificial Intelligence(No), Full Screen, Anti-Aliasing(2x), VSync(Yes), Overall Quality(Custom), Vegetation(Very High), Shading(Very High), Terrain(High), Geometry(High), Post FX(High), Texture(Very High), Shadow(High), Ambient(High), Hdr(Yes), Bloom(Yes), Fire(Very High), Physics(Very High), RealTrees(Very High)

You need to use the gfx_maxfps 30 command in the in-game console when running DX10 to prevent the common stutter problem, but this limits the frame rate to 30. The same settings work well in DX9 with no stutter:

    DX9:
    • Average Framerate: 39.17
    • Max. Framerate: 62.60 (Frame:105, 2.01s)
    • Min. Framerate: 20.74 (Frame:424, 9.42s)

Since the Samsung/AMD driver update, I've noticed a massive performance increase in some titles.

Far Cry 2 now gets > 30fps at native 1600 x 900 with all settings maxed (2x AA).
Medal of Honor 2010 runs fine maxed at 1600 x 900.
Modern Warfare 2 runs really well with everything maxed.

Since the update skyrim crashes (not often but its seems related to stress on the graphics card).
I really hope samsung gives us an udate with every catalyst update, the new driver is still not perfect

But my drivers are still the old default 1s. from easy software. its 8.831/8.931 i think. i m gona try leshcats drivers today n see wat happens.

The best driver (which fixed the OpenGL issue and boosted performance in many games, generally) is 8.940. It has been posted for download on this page:

    how about leshcats 8.950?

PS- skyrim launcher says i m running on the intel card, but when run on ultra high, it runs pretty smoothly, so i bet its using the ati. does 940/950 solve this confusion? my gf's dv6 switches so smoothly using optimus.. :(
