    Hi all,

I've had this awesome laptop since it's launch and find it adequate for the majority of my needs. Unfortunately I dropped the laptop which miraculously kept all components working 100%!!! However the laptop did sustain permanent aluminum damage on two of the edges of the screen. There is also a massive crack running down the bottom cover which keeps the side tabs unhooking randomly.

I've decided that I want to build a mini media center from its parts. I noticed even before the drop that my idle temps were pretty high. Idle hovered around 70c. Under load it jumped to ~90ish. Anywho I'm pretty set on this build.

I know given the fact that the motherboard will have lots more room to breathe it should help with the high idle temps, however if there is a good alternative for the stock cpu/gpu heatsink that would be great. The laptop is already stripped apart. The thermal paste does look like it was

I did a quick google search and could not come up with much. I will continue looking into it after posting this thread and will update it accordingly if anything is found.

    Thanks all!
