Is this normal? My Samsung Series 5 Ultratouch charger is very HOT! Hot enough I can't hold it in my hand for more than a couple seconds. Is this normal or should I worry?

If you can't hold it then I would say that is too hot and probably close to death. If nothing else, it is wasting some electricity.

Under normal use a PSU usually gets warm and warms up further if the computer is working hard and recharging the battery (ie PSU under nearly full load). They are usually black for the good reason of radiating heat better - a PSU buried under a pile of paper will get hotter than one sitting in the open.

I would recommend you buy a new PSU, either Samsung or compatible. I think Samsung only have two basic types: Thin (3mm) plug as used on the thin notebooks such as the Series 9 and a fat plug (5.5mm?) for the others, with various wattage ratings.

OK, update.... I went to charge my laptop back up to 100% from 55%.... only took 20 minutes and the charger was cool to the touch. Left it hooked up and turned on the laptop for 20 minutes, the charger was just warm but was not using the laptop. When it got real hot the other day it must have been the combo of using the laptop heavily and the charger was laying on the couch. I'll try using the laptop heavily again, but have charger on hard surface to see if that makes a difference...
