heyy guys, i recently got the Samsung's series 7 gamer NP700G7C- SO1us and i thought it had a virus in it so i tried using the recovery solution 5 to completely restore it and that fail so my laptop wouldn't start.

i told a couple of mates of mine and they told what to do to re install windows 7 on it, which i managed to do. but after installing windows 7 I've lost all my drivers and because of that i cant connect to wireless, bluetooth and even the display is .. if youz could help me fix this problem as soon as possible.. it would be great

and yess one of my mate gave me recovery solution 5 but when i try to install it, it says there is no samsung recovery area on your computer... setup will be aborted' so could you help me fix it and find out how can i make the drive?

and one more question is i had microsoft office on my laptop fully activated but now i don't have that so what do i need to do to install it again..will i have to buy the offixe with the disc again coz all i have right now is the activation key.

    thanks guys.

Go to the Samsung support website and download either Easy Software Manager or the newer SW Update (if you can find it). Once that is installed it should detect your model of computer, look in the database and offer you all the recommended drivers and software.

I'm sure MS Office can be downloaded from somewhere. Perhaps get the trial version from here and see if you can use your key to activate it (you may have to do a phone activation since you have activated that key recently).

Since you do not have wireless you can connect the ethernet to get it on line, then install the Samsung software. The reason for no recovery is when you used a win7 disk and reformated you probably lost all data in the recovery partition..............

As you have discovered, SRS will not install unless the Recovery partition is present. You can check that it exists using Disk Management. If it has been deleted then it is difficult to rebuild (you need a special utility.

or would u reckon it would be a good idea to give it into one of the samsung shops or someone who repairs laptops so they can fix it properly and get the partition because even though i tried fixing it, it has some problems

    1. the modeshift driver doesn't work properly
    2. the gamer mode animations are gone
    3. the Fn key doesnt operate
    4. the touch panel doesn't work either

so would it be a good idea to get it fixed.. i'm going overseas as of early wednesday so i ight take it overseas as noone in my house knows about this.. so would uz

Unless you have defective hardware, the SW Update program should find and enable you to download and install all the required drivers and software (it's a standard program so the one here will work). The Easy Settings package includes the driver for the Fn keys and may fix some of your other problems.

I don't think the web site drivers and software will give you the Cyberlink stuff...........

Possibly not, but one potential advantage of using an updater client is that it can download proprietary software provided the updater is running an on eligible computer. I recall seeing the Cyberlink YouCam package being offered as software on my Series 9, although I don't see it there at the moment.

I don't hold out much hope of a normal computer repair shop being able to sort out the recovery partition. There's more knowledge in this forum than in the Samsung support database.
