    My laptop specs:
    I have the samsung r710, @2.00GHZ, (RAM) 4gb
    (NP-R710-AS05ANL).
    (intel(R) core (TM)2 duo CPU)

    My problem:
When I try to use Samsung Recovery Solution 3, to go back to the factory configuration I have a problem. Even the basic recovery doesn't work.. it's madly depressing.

It goes like this, I press SRC3 (samsung recovery solution 3) and it reboots right after that to start the progress, but when it should start I get a black screen with the following text:

    invalid recovery area.

Your thoughts on this please, how can I solve this issue..

    Hi!

Do you want to restore the factory configuration from the recovery partition, or do you want to restore from an own backup?

In the first case, maybe the recovery partition was damaged somehow. Did you run any partition software, install a new operating system or stuff like this?

In the second case, maybe your backup is damaged?

In all cases, you can try first do reinstall the src3 program. Download it from the samsung webpage.

    Cheers
    Tobi

Better late than never, I've tried doing both:

The recovery partition, and from my own back-up, both doesn't work.
I'm just trying to get to the factory configuration now.. and still, nothing's working..
Tried calling Samsung Headquarters here in Holland, got some kid on the line who didn't knew what to say... PERFECT.

I reinstalled src3 and still, the same problem.

Yet an other problem occured to me these last few weeks:

My laptop is overheating, and randomly shuts down whenever it gets too hot.. here is a picture:

This is when I'm not even doing anything besides internet explorer..
I wouldn't dare to look at the vent, by opening up my laptop.. see if
there's any dust in there, because of my warranty..

So yeah, any help would be great, 2 problems.. too much I can handle.

Have your checked your cpu usage in task manager to see if a program is excessively stressing your cpu like spyware or virus or just a faulty app.

Also did you not get 2 dvd`s my Q210 came with a Samsung Vista dvd and a software dvd, if so you could re-install your os.

Nothing out of the ordinary when I saw my CPU, that's like the first thing I checked.. all the time..

And I remember I had 2, I just had a pink disc with:

System Software Media.. Should use that whenever applications and drivers aren't working properly.. provided by Samsung.

And an orange one with cyberlink dvd suite installation cd. Well it's not that one, I'm sure lol..
