My R780 has a broken power port where the adapter plugs into the laptop. When you move the port you can hear the pins popping, so Im sure its the port.

Has anyone gone about replacing one of these? Theres alot on ebay and I know this is a common issue with alot of laptops. What I really need is a tear down for how to get the thing apart without destroying it.

    Any help would be appreciated.

This shows disassembly of an older Samsung notebook.

And see this Service Manual download (it says R540 / R780 on the web page but the manual seems to be for the R540). Hint: To download, click on "Get Manual" just below the box.

I just downloaded the one John sent. It looks good. It does look like the 540, but with as far as Ive gotten the 780 apart they dont look very different. Thanks a bunch John!
