    Hi all,

I have been looking for a 15.4" laptop with some gaming ability and came across the R560. Samsung lists it as being available with a 9600M GT graphics card, but all the dealers in the UK only seem to stock the 9600M GS version. Has anyone managed to source a GT R560 in the UK?

    Many thanks

Samsung UK is usually conservative in the selection of GPUs. I don't know whether this is because they see a limited market segment or whether they get worried about the long-term performance of the GPUs at the upper end of the thermal design envelope. The top model of the R710 has got the 9600M GT, but perhaps they thought it necessary to drive a WUXGA display.

So far, Samsung have not given any warranty extension on nvidia GPUs and there are a few unhappy R70 owners around.

If you really want the R560 with 9600M GT then you could get one from notebook.de. You do get 2 years warranty as standard.
