Hi, i have Samsung R560 Laptop, is there any way to turn off Fail-safe temperature shutdown? I'm pretty sure that the CPU temperature monitor is broken, causing it to shut down at random. I've ran few Stability test, like one from EVEREST and it caused the temperature to spike from 60 degrees to 100 degrees in matter of one second, then in next second it dropped to 70-80 degrees. I tried to look in bios, but there isn't any option for automatic shutdown.

Which CPU do you have in your R560? The Intel specs for the P7350 don't list thermal monitoring but the specs for the P7570 show it is included. Perhaps the technology was considered to be optional at that time.

If you can get the CPU temperature from 60C to 100C in one second then I would suspect the heat sink isn't properly fixed to the CPU and should be taken off, the old thermal paste removed and a very thin layer of new past applied.

Idle temp is 60c? Its high, but It might just be old thermal grease and a dusty fan.
Or does it jump from 60 to 90 then back down to 60-70 and up again, and just continues on like this? If it does I belive you need to replace the assy motherboard :(

Yea, it jump like that. Isn't there any way to turn off emergency temperature shut-down?
My processor is intel core 2 duo P8400

Ok, so I applied new thermal paste, cleaned every fan from dust and problem still persists. Idle temperature still as it was 60 degrees, and when i put processor in 100% use, it jump back and down from 60 to 103 degrees back and forth.

The P8400 should never reach 100C unless the cooling system is broken. Can you see / hear that the fan is working OK? Is the heat sink getting hot?

There's no problem with cooling system. Fans are working ok.
As i've said before, i think that motherboard temperature readings are broken. It jumps from 100 degrees, to 80 in matter of one second and then raises again. So, my question is, is there any way for me to disable temperature shut-down alarm?

Ah! I think I now understand your hypothesis. The sensor(s) are mis-reporting the temperature. The thermal management is probably coded into the BIOS and not available for user adjustment. A specialist might know how to look for a faulty sensor. I don't. Is anyone selling boards from broken R560s?
