I think the R65 is a cheaper version of the X60, unless both have similiarly bodies.
But I don't know if you can really compare these two models.

There are many similarities between the R55 and the bottom end of the X60 range and the R55 is less expensive. The key differences between the R55 and the X60 appear to be that the R55 has nVidia graphics and weighs about 0.2kg more. The dimensions suggest that the R55 has a slightly smaller footprint and may be slightly thicker. The R55 has 4 USB ports compared with 3 in the X60 but the R55 lacks the infra-red remote control. The R55 specs list both the 60W and 90W power supplies. If the former is provided then the lower weight will partly offset the heavier basic weight of the computer. The R55 does not appear to have the X60's 5 extra buttons on the right side of the keyboard.

The slightly heavier weight and greater thickness of the R55 suggest that it uses less expensive materials. Perhaps the most critical component is the back of the display. The X60 has a metal alloy display back. My previous notebook (an Asus W3A) had a carbon-fibre display back. Both these materials are strong and provide very good protection.

    Hope this helps,

    John
