I'm planning on buying the R522 Satin which has a T6400. Later I plan to upgrade the CPU to a T9600, P8700 or P8800. That I haven't fully decided yet. I know that it is possible to change the CPU in this model since I've read about it and I even have seen pics of the process. Sadly, the users that posted about the upgrade don't seem to be around on the board so I thought seeking knowledge here would be a good idea.

Now to my actual concern. Since the T6400 has a 800MHz FSB and the PM45 chipset in the R522 is for 1066MHz can I assume that the FSB is just downclocked? I'm not really familiar with FSB and multipliers on notebooks.

If I would install one of the above mentioned CPUs on what clockspeed/FSB would it run? Or is the actual FSB really determined by the mainboard and not by the chipset specs?

Well, I hope someone can help me with this. Thanks in advance.

Never mind. I got an offer on a Dell Studio 17 I couldn't refuse.
