    Hi,

I am trying to source a replacement SATA cable for my Q45 laptop but am not having much luck.

Does anyone know if there is a generic version of this cable or where I can get it from please???

In case you can't make it out from the picture, the code on the cable is BA41--00725a.

I agree there's a technique in navigating around the Samsung support sites. I've had to search under most of the stones there and keep wondering if Samsung UK will announce the new product range before it is superseded. :D

    Guys,
Like an idiot I took my HDD out of my Q45 last night (all the way including disconnecting the SATA cable from the motherboard) and now cannot get it to work, on boot up the PC informs me that it cannot find the OS. Now I have two questions:-
Is there a particular nack in getting the SATA cable reconnected to the motherboard once I have released the clamp?
Or, is it more likely that I have broken the ribbon cable, and therefore need an new one?
    Thanks
    Gary

The cable connection to the motherboard should be a simple matter of: make sure the clamp is released, push in cable fully then push clamp down.

The only sure way of determining if the cable itself is damaged is to use the resistance setting of a multimeter to check between the contacts at each end of the cable.

Are there any definitave answers to this problem, i have been getting the same error, no os found, this was after getting a hard disc failure notice so i brought a seagate drive put it in and still get the no os error.. I did notice that when i boot the laptop up the fan does not go round. Do you think it might be a problem with my M/B rather then the sata cable..?
